The original idea behind horror channel was to be on cable systems and show horror movies and TV shows.

Unfortunately, they weren't able to get enough cable systems to sign up for it to make it profitable.  So they ended up becoming an internet channel, showing public domain films and shorts made by various non-professionals.

About a year ago they dropped the films and are pretty much showing just the shorts.

I checked again and their theater is still "under construction".  And the message board is barely active.  One post says  "Fios dumped THC MONTHS ago from their lineup, probably for lack of any new content since it debuted in 07. Don't really know the reason why, but it got dropped like a bad habit."  Apparently they hadn't any new programming since 2007.

The only thing I have which is close to it is, :D The Chiller station, and they show too many new horror flicks, once in a while a classic pops up, but it is usually in the wee hours, and Queen is in snooze mode by then

I watch Chiller sometimes but frankly there is too much recent horror films on it rather than the classic programs.

Horror Channel was originally supposed to be a cable channel but instead ended up being an internet one.  Then it greatly downscaled and ended up being a website for short films.

The same thing happened with SciFi Channel.  Initially it was geared for fans of classics, then gradually went for the more modern audiences.

It's a shame Horror Channel never really got off the ground.  I never read an explanation as to what happened either.

exactly, that is why I dont tune in too much; sci/fi channel went the same route, up until a few yrs ago they were running classics, but no more. :(

QZ I believe it's only on the internet.  Last I heard they never got the funding to become a cable channel.

I don't even understand why they still have it on the internet.
